NBA and EFS were well represented for the official opening of Moss Airport Rygge on the 14th February 2008.
RCM, RFI & RDY aircraft were present for a static show together with a B737-800 from Norwegian Shuttle. NBA and EFS were also represented by a large number of administration staff and flight and cabin crew. NBA had a stand in the terminal-hall from which information about business jet was given to a big number of people.
There were approximately 600 guests present at the opening and the Norwegian Minister of Trade cut the tape. Norwegian Shuttle made the first official flight from Rygge with destination Budapest. There was a strong Hungarian atmosphere over the ceremony with their music, dancing and food.
Moss Airport Rygge is situated a few hundred meters from the E6 between Gothenburg and Oslo. 66 km from Oslo centre there is a four lane motorway all the way into the centre of Oslo. The trip by road will take approximately 49 minutes which is comparable to driving in to Oslo from Gardermoen. In the future there will also be a fast train.
